Her feet made an odd shuffling sound as she strolled down the street. Startling blue eyes peeked out behind the curtain of platinum blonde hair as one foot caught the edge of a crack in the pavement. Hesitating at first, she firmly placed the foot over the crack, muttering “step on a crack, break your mother’s back” with a distant smile. She was so young.
